In the spring of 2024, the GRP team came together for an exciting and meaningful day dedicated to launching our greenhouse and garden initiative. With shovels in hand and a shared sense of purpose, we built the greenhouse and carefully prepared the gardens, filling them with a diverse array of fresh produce. It was a hands-on effort rooted in our commitment to sustainability and community wellness.

By spring 2025, our mission had grown—both literally and figuratively.

The GRP team was joined by our enthusiastic partners from the Royals and Scotts Lawn Care teams for a vibrant planting day. Together, we worked to cultivate nutrient-rich soil and plant an even wider variety of fruits and vegetables, reinforcing our goal to make healthy, sustainable food accessible to all.

This effort is a core part of our broader education initiative, which empowers kids to grow their own food and make informed, healthy choices about nutrition. Through workshops and hands-on experiences in the garden, young people are gaining the knowledge and confidence to take control of their well-being—skills that can last a lifetime.

​

The impact of these gardens goes far beyond the soil. All of the produce harvested is used right inside the stadium at our concession stands, bringing truly local, homegrown flavor to fans. In addition, a generous portion of the harvest is donated to the Kansas City MLB Urban Youth Academy, helping to nourish and support our local community with fresh, wholesome food.
