GRP Charities

At GRP, we believe that improving childhood nutrition starts at the source. That’s why we established GRP Charities—to bring greenhouses and resources into schools and other urban settings, teaching students how to grow nutrient-dense foods using sustainable practices. Recognizing that not everyone has access to healthy, affordable food options, our goal is to empower children to take control of their nutrition.

Beyond connecting consumers with growers, we’re committed to educating kids about food choices. Through partnerships with schools and community organizations, we introduce hands-on growing experiences, helping families overcome barriers to healthy eating, regardless of location or financial situation.

This is all part of GRP’s commitment to A Mission That Matters, driving a healthier future for all.

Previous Projects

In early 2023, GRP Charities constructed its first pilot greenhouse at Sterling High School in Sterling, KS with the help of an area sponsor. This greenhouse will be used to exemplify the rough cost and time commitment required to construct these structures at schools. The school plans to utilize its greenhouse through its Family and Consumer Sciences classes and extra-curricular clubs to generate food to consume in the school cafeteria as well as plants to sell for fundraising opportunities.

The Fountain Gardens

In May 2024, GRP Charities partnered with sustainability leaders to help build The Fountain Gardens at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, MO. The enclosed garden features a greenhouse and raised beds to supply fresh produce for youth and families involved with the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy (KCUYA). Additionally, the stadium’s catering company will incorporate some of the produce into premium food offerings. The garden will be maintained and harvested year-round by local organizations.
